I went through both freezers yesterday, to see what we have.

14lbs of mince, for one thing...

Should make a fair few cottage pies - just right for these chillier days.

When making shepherd's pie, mash some parsnips in with the tatties. It's yummy. In fact, I love parsnips so much I tend to eat them instead of potatoes in just about every form except jackets and potato salad.

Now that I may well try; I like parsnips. I sometimes add other vegetables, usually cabbage or fried onions, to the potato crust too.

Creole beef with rice. Sweet-and-sour meatballs. Mom's Meatloaf (can be eaten cold in sandwidges for packed lunch if any is left over, which almost never happens). Middle-eastern burgers, with ground cumin, sumach, a touch of lemon juice, lots of chopped flatleaf parsley, and rice pilaf.
