I faint.
Long way to go yet, still 50+ in. And I'm more used to shortstack survival tactics than bigstack bully|cruise mode. Still, it's the best I've ever done, both for longevity (previous best was March, IIRC - maybe Feb) and position.

One year, Conjelco donated some book tokens (they're a book store)
But normally, nowt but kudos.

Congrats. You seem to have a faster table than ours (hand 229).

Hands I have junked: 9/8 9/5 T/7 44 (yes a pair, but not a good one) 9/3 J7 A/3 (bad position), A/T (it missed the flop anyway, in a big way) 4/2 Q/3 K/T (someone had already gone all-in) T/2 J5 T/9 K/4 (winner of this one had K/9) and finally K/5.

Trouble is, this table is a bit mad in that in each round the chances are someone will go all-in pre-flop, so you really have to have something substantial or be a big gambler to bet anything.

On the plus side, every time I've actually shown cards in this WRGPT they've held good (one split pot, no losses). On the minus side, I haven't knocked anyone out either.

Yeh, I've had just enough good hands to be able to stay in this long without having to take any big risks. That move with the A/J on the KKx flop in the previous hand was pretty much the only time I've tried it on, so to speak.
I've had huge chunks of luck too, like my KK holding up there - isn't it something like 40% of flops have an A? So he was only slightly unlucky not to take it.
Our table's at the somebody-pushes-preflop-every-hand stage too, inevitable now, the shortstacks can't really bet less.

Hmmmm.
If a player has an A, there are 3 left, so to not have one on the flop is, um, 47/50*46/49*45/48 ? 0.82... so only 2 flops in 11 have an A? OK I was big favourite after all. 0.72 for the whole board, or a little better than 1 board in 4 has an A. Did I work that right?

Well, so have I really. It just seems like a long wait between them. :-)

I think your arithmetic is right. On the other hand, if you have two high cards and you're looking to pair up either of them then you have 49% chance from all five cards.

With people pushing all-in, it feels awful risky if it's not the Ace you pair up though!

If you have AK then it doesn't matter which one you pair up. :-)

Obviously the lower your "high cards" are, the more risk there is of them being overtaken. You want your cards to be higher than the other guy's anyway, otherwise what if he has an A too?
