12 dead in the USA, 2 in Canada.
And to think I had a very tasty pork stir fry for dinner. Oops.
we had pork at the weekend, cold pork yesterday and pork curry this lunchtime. Locally reared, though.
Not gone away, just the hysterical medial flailing has departed to pastures new.
One of the main areas here in Australia for Piggy Flu appears to be the suburb I'm in. Apparently 2 cases at the High School which is situated at the far end of the street. Hmmm... (*thinks it would be a good way to extend final assignment details*)
Does anyone know how Miss Piggy is doing? Kermit would be heartbroken if she popped her trotters.
More worrying is the exponential-looking increase in hospitalisations in New York. We may be within a few weeks of seeing how even a very mild pandemic can bring a just-enough-ITU-beds health system to its knees, simply by tipping more people with other health problems into needing ITU beds than there are beds.
Did you see John Oxford's guesstimate (at least, I don't know anything solid he could have been basing it on) that there are actually 30,000 cases in the UK now? At least if that were so, it would show that the hospitalisation rate here was very low indeed...
