The die is cast
On Wednesday we went to a "How we teach maths to infants" thang at Jack's school. Quite interesting. Love those interactive whiteboards. Mrs Williams had a little presentation which at one point featured a couple of dice.
Casino-stylee dice - red, transparent, spots widely spaced, just like the ones in my poker chip set or any casino you walk into worldwide - and rarely seen anywhere else.
I knew, really, but I checked with her today: it was the first pic she liked from what Google gave her.

I borrowed an interesting book from Ma about how kids learn maths. It starts off with how they learn about the context before they learn actual numbers. Same as, bigger than, smaller than etc. I really ought to read more of it.

I guess they're transparent so you can more readily see if they're loaded.
