Possibly expensive future
It being half-term, no Beavers.
It being last Thursday of the month, Slack Top Wargamers have a meeting.
So I took Jack to have a look.
The long time it takes to complete a turn didn't put him off the idea.
The arguments (between the 12yr old players he was kibitzing) didn't put him off.
He loves the models.
He loves the general idea.
So at some point we will probably acquire some Warhammer40k stuff...
Unless he goes through with his idea to write his own rules and make his own armies out of Fimo.

I thought you'd planned his future career as an F1 driver. Does he have time for playing with ickle bits of plastic?

I think the F1 might be off the agenda.
I'm going for the backup plan - gaming leading to poker. Some of the top poker players of the modern era grew up on Magic: The Gathering.

Just as long as there's some long term payback so he can afford to keep you in your old age (or possibly go to college).

Mix in some backgammon too perhaps? That seems to be pretty good grounding ready for hitting the WSOP :-)

He's beaten me once, and thrown a wobbly when I beat him once.
He could be the next Luke Schwarz

Mine made his own armies out of salt dough, and Blutack. Now we have Real Stuff, but it's social currency, and we enforce Rules about expenditure of time and money.
