Ange was wondering how much sugar to stick in the big jar with the damsons and spirits.
We've been putting in less every year - if it comes out a bit sharp we use a sweeter mixer.
It's useful for gauging how much sugar to add to a must so your wine comes out the abv you want. Not sure it's so uiseful for the flavoured spirits thing - sugar there is more about comabting the acid content of the fruit

Nah. Tis the season for berries and domestic fruit. Roots later. Maybe a coffee one for a laff.
Have considered adding banana to other wine for a bit of body, though. But they've not been unnacceptably thin, so far.

This explains a lot about Owen's fruit preferences (though he does like all fruit he prefers some to others). Haven't tried him with lychees yet.
