She had a very old Fujitsu-Siemens PC, running XP in not enough memory. It was dire. Especially as with her eyesight, a quarter of half the webpages she looked at were off the edge of the screen.
So yesterday, having got halfway to the cinema before realising we'd left the 3D glasses at home, we switched to going to a major retail computer outlet and bought her a new PC.
Windows 8, eh?
Can't decide whether to do one of the hacks that loads the desktop at startup, or just tell her 2000 times to click on the desktop icon at the bottom left of the new GUI.
Can't decide whether to copy just the useful bits of the old PC to a USB HD, or to boot from a UBCD4W and just grab all of C: ... or just re-inst all her fave games.
