Remember http://oldbloke.livejournal.com/745294.html, where I showed the process for making TC?
Well, it's good cider, but it might be nice to have it a bit more appley.
You can't squeeze more juice into the demis, but what you can do is switch to using concentrate.
500ml of Suma apple concentrate is equivalent to 3.5l of AJ. And the standard recipe has... 3.5l of AJ !!!
(plus 500ml tea and 500ml some-other-juice).
So, if you just sub all the AJ with a 500ml bottle of Suma, you're back where you started - but with 3l of spare space to stick something in. So stick another half or whole litre of AJ in. More apple! But also more ABV - instead of 5.5%ish, it's 6.5 or 7.5. Shame, but not much you can do about that.
Possibly the Suma also just tastes better than standard AJ, or maybe that's wishful thinking. It's only marginally more expensive, too: you're looking at about 4 quid a gallon instead of 3.50
At some point this year I also intend to try the 400ml bottles, using 3 of them between 2 demis. So it'd be 600ml suma, tea, 1/2l other, and no extra AJ. Same effect.
