YB & I went to the last pre-grading session tonight. Passed, though YB had to repeat the kata a few times as he managed to mess it up the first couple (mainly nerves). and this is just for 8th kyu, what will 7th be like? Lots of tricky new moves!
ANYWAY, the guy who grades us is Sensei Sherry, who has just been awarded 9th dan by the KUGB tech comm. He started in 1959. So if I did it in the same elapsed time - highly unlikely, as mostly I train only once a week - I'd be 112 when I got there...
I do want to make 1st dan though. Doubt I'll do it by state pension age, but I'll try.
